Referees

Welcome Everyone,

My name is Damien Miller and I am the Referee Director of Palm Beach Touch.

I have been in the Sport of Touch Football for many years and have the privilege of being on the Queensland Touch State Referee Panel and been selected into the 2024 World Cup referee team!

As you know Referees play an integral role with all Touch Football competitions. They ensure our game is played in a fair, safe and enjoyable environment.

There are a number of benefits for individuals who choose to be a referee:

Keep fit and active, Learn new skills, Build confidence, Make friends and yes, get paid!

All our Referees are allocated to games according to their experience and skill – so don’t be afraid to have a go.

At Palm Beach Touch we are continuing to build a strong team of referees and referee coaches to assist everyone who wants to pick up a whistle.

I am always up for a chat and always here to help, please do not hesitate to reach out as I love nothing more then seeing everyone having fun, learning and achieving goals.

Education & Development

There are opportunities to referee in competitions run by Palm Beach Touch, and tournaments run by QLD Touch.

If you are someone who doesn’t know much about touch football – no problem; Palm Beach Touch conducts Foundation (Level 1) referee courses throughout the year, as well as providing ongoing coaching and support.

Further, Touch Football Australia has recently introduced an online learning Management System – eTrainu for Referees called “The Nest”. The Nest will be the hub where referees can go to develop their knowledge of the game, book courses and track their certifications. The development and support now being offered is second to none.

So if you’re new to refereeing or perhaps you’ve been a referee in another sport, there is no better time to start your journey as a Touch Football Referee.

For more details, or to register your interest in being a referee, please contact our referees director –referees@palmbeachtouch.com
